“Even Spiderman has to take risks. At least I’m a salesman”
Harpreet Singh Bedi has just graduated and his marks are a little embarrassing. But marks never stopped him from dreaming of an exciting and adventurous career and they never will. It is sometimes thoughtless, sometimes thoughtful story of a fresh graduate trying to something better. The lead character has been played by Ranbir Kapoor and he has given his best.
“Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year” finds a balance between the maddening demands of the professionals’ way and the way of his heart and stumbling upon a crazy way which turn upside down and his career right side up.
Harpreet Singh Bedi, a Sikh B.Com Graduate with approximately 39% marks who becomes a salesman in a big corporate computer assembly and service company, AYS. His idealistic vision of the working world shatters quickly. Within a few days, a client asks for a KICKBACK. He focuses on “3S” i.e. Sales, Service, and Support which are the pillars of a successful business.
Learning from the film are “Don’t sell to the client what you have, arrange everything that your client needs. Never lose hope and continue to struggle. There will be lots of small gains and big losses on the way, but don’t miss the target. Believe not only in your qualifications but also in your skills. Don’t underestimate experiences just because you have a brilliant idea and have got some quick success. Believe in the people working with you because they make the organization great and successful. Finally, evaluate that even zero has a value.”
