COVID-19 vaccine is the most desired and effective invention in this pandemic session. Along with people all over the world, the people of Bangladesh were also hoping for the COVID-19 vaccine. That wait is finally coming to an end by next month.
The Bangladesh Government has approved the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine will help to spike-specific antibodies at day 28 and neutralize antibodies after a booster dose at day 56. Bangladesh is bringing 30 million shots of vaccine from India’s Serum Institute and gifted 20 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccine by the Indian government. Bangladesh has already prepared a master plan to distribute vaccines properly. Frontline workers like health service providers, police, media workers, defense forces and freedom fighters will be given priority. The general public will have to register online using national ID cards, birth certificates, or passports to get the vaccine.
Beximco, one of Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical companies, is the exclusive distributor of the AstraZeneca vaccine in the country. They have declared that they will provide the vaccine by next month. Private sales of the vaccine could go for a retail price of about 1125 taka per dose.
Hope that the coronavirus will not spread as many people due to worldwide vaccination against the virus.
