We read so many books in our lifetime. But how much we understand them deeply? Or do we really get the meaning properly ?
There are so many ways to read a book faster and also understand better. You can follow some tricks.
- Read silently
Do you love to read out loudly? Or do you prefer reading silently?
Its quite effective if you read silently. You can do an experiment too. Read a page both loudly and silently, set a clock. You can see that when you read silently you can read more words than loudly. So, try to practice reading silently and get the meaning.
- Get the context!
Nowadays when we sit to read a book, we might find some new words and we open the dictionary. But at the same time other notifications from social media would start to stir us up. This can easily distract our attention. So, try to read a book by understanding the context first. If you get the context then you don’t have to find every meaning of a new vocabulary. When you get a new word, just mark the word and keep reading. When you finish the book, find out the meaning.
- Set a deadline or a clock
When you sit to read, decide first how long you have to read. For instance, you can read 50 pages within one hour. So set your clock and keep reading. It would be impossible to divert your attention into something else.
- Keep a bookmark
Try to read a book with a bookmark or a sign. It would help you to remember the last thing or page you read. So, you don’t have to find the last page again and again.
